Vinha do Pombal

Planted in 1957, the old vineyards of Quinta do Pombal, located at about 500m altitude in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, has about 35 mixed varieties, including Alvarelhão, Bastardo, Tinta da Barca, Mourisco, etc. Facing north and east, this vineyard has a planting density close to 8,000 vines/ha and an approximate production of 200gr/foot. From soil rich in schist but with fragments of quartz, the right freshness was found for the elaboration of this wine. All work is practically done by hand and with the help of a work horse, without the use of herbicides or pesticides.
The acquisition of this vineyard was made in 2015, with the 2017 harvest being the first limited edition.
