DOURO

In Douro we work hard, more specifically in Douro Superior, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa. It is a very dry region with low rainfall and with old vines that produce small amounts. It is impossible for a tractor to be in the vineyard due to the steepiness of the field,  so with that handicap we need a “male” (horse) to plow the land. Everything is done by hand and using a hoe. Our work is focused on taking care of old vines that are in disuse and trying to give them life, without the use of herbicides and pesticides. We work daily with our winegrowers to raise awareness, especially of environmental sustainability, always thinking unconditionally about our final product, which we want to be one of the best wines produced in the region. In the cellar, we normally work with indigenous yeasts and use low sulfur additives.
