M\u00e1rcio Lopes was born in Porto in 1983 and from an early age he had contact with rural life and agriculture through his grandparents. He graduated in Agricultural Engineering in 2006 at the University of Porto. During his academic period he started working with the winemaker Anselmo Mendes, in Melga\u00e7o, where he made his first harvest with the Alvarinho variety. From the north of Portugal he heads to Australia in 2008, where he makes two harvests \u2013 Rutherglen and Tasmania.<\/h5>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

2010<\/strong> \u2013 The \u201cM\u00e1rcio Lopes Winemaker\u201d project is founded with its first two brands: PEQUENOS REBENTOS in the Vinho Verde Region and PROIBIDO in the Douro Superior Region.<\/h5>\n
2015<\/strong> \u2013 The Quinta do Pombal in Vila Nova de Foz C\u00f4a is acquired.<\/h5>\n
2017<\/strong> - Creation of the first experimental field at Quinta do Pombal, named \u201cVinha da Sofia\u201d for the recovery of native grape varieties.<\/h5>\n
2017<\/strong> \u2013 Starts his first project outside Portugal \u2013 TELEGRAFO in Ribeira Sacra, Spain.<\/h5>\n
2019\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Inauguration of the first own winery where the \u201cPEQUENOS REBENTOS\u201d brand is produced.<\/h5>\n
2019<\/strong> \u2013 Creation of the second experimental field at Quinta do Pombal, named \u201cVinha da Lu\u00edsa\u201d.<\/h5>\n
2020<\/strong> \u2013 Elected as \u201cRevelation Winemaker of the Year 2019\u201d by \u201cRevista de Vinhos \u2013 A Ess\u00eancia dos Vinhos\u201d.<\/h5>\n
2020<\/strong> \u2013 Receives the \u201cSingularity Award 2019\u201d by the magazine \u201cVinho \u2013 Grandes Escolhas\u201d.<\/h5>\n
2020<\/strong> \u2013 Mention in the \u201cTop 100 Wine Discoveries 2020 \u2013 Robert Parker\u201d.<\/h5>\n
